Robin van Persie admits he has been pleasantly surprised by the speed of Arsenal's recovery this season

Van Persie has led the way with 16 goals in the top flight and even he has been shocked by the strength of Arsenal's response.

The secret to my success

Robin van Persie says his magnificent goalscoring form in 2011 is down to two key factors - his fitness and his willingness to take risks.

"I didn't miss one Premier League game [this year], and in most games I played 90 minutes, so when you have a good run and feel fresh and fit you try things,"

"You take a few more risks than perhaps you would when you are coming back from injury. When you don't have a run, you don't really try things. "

"As a striker it is really important to have a go. If you feel like having a chip or cutting the ball instead of shooting [you should do it].

"If you look at my performances, I take more risks now because I know that, with the team I have behind me, I will get more chances. It's not as if I will only get one chance - I always get one, two, three maybe four in a game, so I can take a risk here and there."

"It's a big honour because Thierry is probably the best player Arsenal ever had and to achieve that in a year is really special,” he said. "

"I am really proud but it is not my main target. But as it has happened, of course I am really happy."

Arsenal Football Club is a professional English Premier League football club based in North London. One of the most successful clubs in English football, they have won 13 First Division and Premier League titles and 10 FA Cups. Arsenal was founded in 1886 in Woolwich and in 1893 became the first club from the south of England to join the Football League. The new shirt features a special 125th anniversary crest design combining the graphic of the first Club crest with the current version. The anniversary dates of 1886 and 2011 feature on the heart of the shirt, with the word ‘FORWARD’ sitting underneath as a tribute to the Club’s first motto.

While the history and tradition of the Club is present in the shirt design, the new home kit is made from Nike’s ground-breaking recycled polyester – which for the first time includes both the shirt and shorts.

Each complete kit is made up of up to fourteen reclaimed plastic water bottles. This new manufacturing process reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing traditional polyester saving a huge amount of plastic water bottles from being dumped at landfill sites.

Thierry Henry telah mengatakan tahap kesayangan beliau untuk Arsenal dalam ucapan emosi pada pelancaran patung beliau di Stadium Emirates.

"I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have a statue like this in front of the stadium of the team I love and support,"

"Once a Gooner, always a Gooner."

Henry adalah salah satu daripada tiga patung yang diumumkan untuk menyambut ulang tahun ke-125 kelab.

"The way the statue is gives the perfect example of the love I have for the club - me kneeling facing Emirates Stadium and Highbury behind is amazing,"

"I also have to thank the fans, you have always been special, and I always try to give my best. I know at times it was not enough, but I always give it all out there on the field for you guys and the club."

"I know some of the press used to kill me for not showing emotion - well, there you go, I am showing emotion for the club I love."

Henry juga memberi penghormatan kepada bekas pengurusnya, Arsene Wenger, yang telah membawa beliau ke kelab dari Itali iaitu Juventus pada tahun 1999 dengan harga £ 11m.
