Nazmi Faiz sertai Beira-Mar

Nazmi faz história, tornando-se o primeiro futebolista malaio de sempre a jogar na Europa. O jovem médio assinou contrato com o Beira-Mar válido para as próximas três épocas. 

Nazmi Faiz Mansor, jovem médio malaio de 17 anos que é considerado uma das maiores esperanças do futebol asiático, assinou, na companhia do pai, contrato com o Beira-Mar válido para as próximas três épocas – até Junho de 2015. Nazmi cumpriu na semana passada um período de testes com o plantel aurinegro, tendo agradado a Ulisses Morais, que viu nele potencial para uma carreira bem-sucedida na Europa. Ainda com mais uma temporada de júnior pela frente, o jovem internacional sub-21 e sub-23 da Malásia – representava o Harimau Muda, designação com que a selecção de sub-23 malaia entra no campeonato de Singapura – é assim o primeiro futebolista daquele país a mudar-se para um clube do Velho Continente, depois das tentativas frustradas de Lim Teong Kim, na década de 80, e de Mohd Fadhli. 

“É difícil descrever o que sinto neste momento. Esta era a minha grande oportunidade e felizmente consegui. Jogar na Europa era, desde há muito tempo, o meu grande sonho. Estou extremamente feliz e motivado para esta etapa que tenho pela frente. Gostei do Beira-Mar desde o primeiro momento e sinto que encontrei o local certo para evoluir”, afirma o jovem jogador malaio. “Fui muito bem recebido por todos, mas destaco as palavras do treinador [Ulisses Morais] e do capitão [Hugo]. Os seus ensinamentos serão preciosos para mim e para a minha aprendizagem no Beira-Mar e no futebol português, que é famoso em qualquer parte do planeta. Tudo farei para aproveitar esta oportunidade, tornar-me melhor jogador e honrar o meu país. São esses os meus grandes objectivos”, acrescenta Nazmi.
